About the book

This book tends to expose the fact that during times of wars, chaos and insecurity in a country even in cases of insurgency, the media plays a vital role in serving the public with relevant information concerning the state of things at any particular point in time, or even as things unfolds and develops. A lot of people are either ignorant of this, or deliberately feel unconcerned; but this does not change the fact that somewhere in the middle of a heated battle, at least one journalist must have lost their life for his or her country.

The bible says, "Give honour to whom honour is due." As such, I think these fallen heroes ought to be   recognized, but today how many societies truly honour such people who have given their life to service it?

The modern society easily recognizes politicians, fashion trends, movie stars, and musicians, amongst others.  No doubt, MOST of them merit the recognition, but what about thousands who have died so that news and information can get to us? What happens to their family after their demise? Are they abandoned because majority of them do not have affluence or influence? Meanwhile, they are the ones that have truly affected our lives especially in this age of information, as even the bible says, "my people perish for lack of knowledge."

Take it or leave it we cannot underestimate the usefulness of information, we cannot function properly without the relay of Information. No information is wasted in our society today; some journalists are looked down on, mistreated, and even kicked out or prevented from entering some place of preference.

Of course, we cannot also ignore the efforts and sacrifices of soldiers who willingly put their lives at stake just to maintain order in war affected areas, even in cases of terrorism. I do have a friend who lost his elder brother, a soldier, to such fate leaving a wife and a three- month old son behind.

This is a book that presents the story of a reporter; Lady Morris and also that of Lieutenant Steve Bruno as lives that had great effect on others. The poppy is a flower that is used to remember   the   fallen   in the two world wars, especially on remembrance Sunday.

READ AND ENJOY.

The true meaning of Success

True meaning of Success When someone says they are successful, the next think we look out for is the kind of cars they drive, the kind of houses they live in and the kind of businesses they operate. In other to be able to qualify their degree of success, we try to quantify the level of their possession. We equate wealth with success, this is wrong thinking. Success is abstract, it cannot be seen, it cannot be touched, it cannot be tasted, it cannot be smelt, it cannot be felt, it can only be perceived. So it will be wrong to tell how successful someone is by basing our judgement on physical tangible things like houses, cars ,etc. These physical things are not and should not be the determinant for success. You cannot measure an abstract phenomenon using a physical device. You can measure rain using rain gauge, you can measure wind using wind vane, you can measure sun using sun recorder, but you cannot measure an abstract component like success using any scientifically manufactured d
